In the face of a cancer diagnosis, the prospect of navigating complex medical realities and financial burdens can feel overwhelming. For over 34 years, the Cancer Support Community – Greater San Gabriel Valley (CSC) has provided support for patients, survivors, and their loved ones.
Throughout July, the CSC will continue its mission of empowerment through a series of informative workshops and events designed to address a variety of practical and emotional needs.
The educational program lineup kicks off on June 25th with a timely webinar titled “Navigating Insurance and Finances.” Facilitated by Erin Bair, a staff attorney at Triage Cancer, the session will equip participants with valuable tips on navigating the intricacies of health insurance and reducing out-of-pocket medical costs. This program, offered both in person and online, underscores the CSC’s commitment to addressing the financial challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.
The CSC’s July offerings extend to various aspects of living with cancer. A “Lunch & Learn” session on July 2nd focuses on “Sexuality & Cancer,” while a July 9th program tackles “The Fundamentals of Estate Planning.” An evening program on July 16th features Dr. Leif Rogers and his team discussing innovative medical procedures.
Rounding out the month, a July 18th webinar by Dr. Deane Wolcott provides a “Biomedical Aspects of Cancer — 101” overview. A July 25th workshop introduces “Mind Mapping” as a tool for managing challenges, while the month concludes with a “Summer Renewal Meditation & Sound Baths” session on July 30th.
