The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Pasadena is embarking on a year-long celebration of its 75th anniversary. The parish kicked off festivities Saturday and will continue today with a series of community gatherings.
Under the theme “The Faith We Inherited,” the celebration aims to honor the parish’s rich history and look toward its future. The 75th Anniversary Committee has organized events following each Mass over the weekend to bring parishioners together.
It began on Saturday, Sept. 14, with the committee hosting a cookies and lemonade reception after the 5:00 p.m. Mass.
Sunday will feature coffee and donuts after the 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Masses, hosted by the 8th and 1st grades of the parish school.
Additional gatherings with cookies and lemonade will follow the 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Masses on Sunday, also hosted by the 75th Anniversary Committee. These events mark the beginning of the parish’s anniversary kickoff celebration.
According a church announcement, this kickoff is just the beginning, with a full year of events and activities planned to celebrate the parish’s heritage and future.
