Chamber Breakfast to Honor Tournament of Roses President Mark Leavens

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce will honor incoming Tournament of Roses President Mark Leavens at its Annual Breakfast on Thursday, December 4, at the Hilton Pasadena. Leavens, who announced the 2026 Rose Parade theme “The Magic in Teamwork” on February 4, at Tournament House, brings three decades of volunteer service to the Tournament organization. He first joined as a volunteer member in 1995, was appointed Committee Chair in 2010, joined the Board of Directors in 2013, and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2016.

“The Magic in Teamwork highlights the sense of accomplishment found in working together to achieve outcomes far greater than any one of us could achieve alone,” Leavens said when announcing the theme.

The theme carries particular resonance for Pasadena following recent wildfires. “In the wake of the devastating Eaton Fire, this theme honors those we lost in the fire, and all in our community who’ve worked tirelessly since, to help the fire victims,” Leavens said.

The breakfast, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the International Ballroom, historically draws more than 200 attendees. Individual tickets are $90, with sponsorships and corporate tables available through the Chamber.

Leavens will lead the 137th Rose Parade and 112th Rose Bowl Game on January 1. During his Tournament career, he has chaired or served on committees including Communications and Credentials, Float Entries, Formation Area, Music, Parade Operations, and Queen and Court.

Beyond the Tournament, Leavens earned an MBA from the University of Redlands and worked for Nestlé USA from 1989 to 2022—a 33-year career in marketing communications and event management.
