The City of Pasadena has released details about closures and modified services for the upcoming Independence Day holiday on Thursday, July 4. Many city offices and facilities will be closed, while essential services remain operational.

Emergency services will continue uninterrupted, with the police and fire departments fully staffed for patrol, jail, fire, and paramedic duties. However, the departments’ administrative offices will be closed for the holiday.

Residents are advised to report suspicious activities to the Pasadena Police at (626) 744-4241. For life-threatening emergencies, officials emphasize the importance of dialing 911.

The Pasadena Water and Power Department will maintain emergency response capabilities. Customers experiencing power-related issues should call (626) 744-4673, while water emergencies can be reported at (626) 744-4138. Pasadena Water and Power’s regular Customer Call Center will be closed, but customers can access accounts and pay bills online at PWPweb.com or by calling (626) 744-4005.

Despite the holiday, trash collection will proceed as scheduled on July 4. The city notes that there will be no delay in trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup, though bulky item collection will be unavailable.

The City Service Center will be closed on July 4, but requests can still be submitted via web, mobile app, or by calling (626) 744-7311. Normal operations resume July 5.

Parking regulations will be relaxed in some areas, with meters in non-restricted zones offering free parking. However, the city warns that certain violations, including overnight parking and blocking fire hydrants, will still be enforced. Motorists are cautioned about specific parking restrictions in the Arroyo Seco area near Rose Bowl Stadium. Regular parking enforcement resumes Friday, July 5.
