The Finance Committee and City Council on Monday will consider adjustments to the Rose Bowl admission tax and fee rates regarding the grandstand use for New Year’s Day.
The Rose Bowl Admission tax and Grandstand Permit Application will see minimal changes amounting to less than half a cent. However, the Grandstand Seat Surcharge will rise from $5.46 per seat to $5.49 per seat if approved.
The proposed rate adjustments would increase revenues for the New Year’s Day Event Fund by $2,000 and bring $2,000 additional revenue for the Rose Bowl Operating Company.
The Rose Bowl Admission Tax, the Grandstand Seat Surcharge, and the Grandstand Permit Application Fee are adjusted on February 1st every year based on the change of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles- Riverside-Orange County metropolitan area for the 12 months preceding October 1st.
The change in CPI for all urban consumers in the Los Angeles Riverside-Orange County metropolitan area was 0.63 percent between October 1, 2012 and October 1, 2013.
