The City Council unanimously passed on first reading an uncodified ordinance which extends land use related deadlines by 24 months due to “uncertain economic conditions. “
Under the ordinance, if an approved application with the City made by a developer or builder or others is active and not yet expired, it would receive a one-time automatic 24-month extension.
“The local economy and investors in the City are facing economic uncertainty due to lingering pandemic challenges and rising interest rates. Staff is seeking opportunities to maintain existing investment in the City through this period of uncertainty,” the staff report reads.
Land use entitlements include Conditional Use Permits, Hillside Development Permits, Master Plans, Design Review and Subdivision Maps.
Also included are Minor Conditional Use Permit, Minor Variance, Modification for Individuals with Disabilities Permit, Planned Development, Sign Exemption, Temporary Use Permit and Variance, among other permits.
