The City of Pasadena has launched a comprehensive initiative to maintain vital communication services for residents affected by the Eaton Canyon Fire, partnering with major telecommunications providers and expanding public internet access points throughout the area.

Major wireless carriers Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile report no service disruptions in Pasadena and are waiving overage charges for data, text, and voice calls in impacted areas. Residents should contact their carriers directly for more information about these accommodations.

The City reported it significantly expanded public Wi-Fi access, making it available at 15 City parks (locations available online), all public libraries, and community centers. Residents should check specific locations and opening hours through the Libraries and Community Centers online directories. Public computers are available at all City libraries, the Jackie Robinson Community Center, and the Villa Parke Community Center. Additionally, Wi-Fi hotspots are available for checkout at City Libraries.

While no major issues have been reported for wired services (Cable, U-Verse, DSL, Fiber), some outages may exist. Spectrum and AT&T are actively inspecting their infrastructure and working to restore service as quickly as possible. Spectrum has opened up public Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the region, with locations available online, according to a City spokesperson.

Supporting educational continuity, the Pasadena Unified School District is providing computing devices and offers internet services to students in need. The District is currently developing reopening plans and will be communicating with students and families shortly.
