The City of Pasadena’s Planning and Community Development Department processed 971 building and subtrade permits with a total valuation of $13.98 million during March 2025, according to monthly activity reports released by department Director Jennifer Paige.

The department’s Building and Safety division issued 16 permits for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and recorded a total of 3,493 building permits for the month.

In the Planning division, 10 new zoning projects were submitted in March. The department noted there were no ongoing major construction projects, defined as nonresidential developments or nonresidential portions of mixed-use projects that exceed 25,000 square feet of gross floor area.

Community Planning is currently handling active cases including Master Plans and Zoning Code Amendments. The division is also processing Design and Historic Preservation applications, according to the report.

The Code Compliance section opened 265 new cases, conducted 415 inspections and closed 220 cases during the reporting period. Staff also issued 100 Presale certificates and inspected 168 Quadrennial rental units.

The reports, which detail activities across Planning, Code Compliance, and Building and Safety divisions, are available on the city’s website at:  https://www.cityofpasadena.net/planning/monthly-activity-reports/.
