Coldplay Adds Second Rose Bowl Concert After First One Sells Out

Coldplay fans will have another chance to see the British rock band perform live at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena in three weeks.

The band announced it has added a second concert at the iconic venue on Oct. 1, after the first show on Sept. 30 sold out.

The concerts are part of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” World Tour, which kicked off in March in Brazil and will visit 12 countries across four continents.

The tour supports the band’s ninth studio album of the same name which was released in October 2021 and features collaborations with BTS, Selena Gomez and Jacob Collier.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter H.E.R. and rapper-singer 070 Shake will open for Coldplay at both Rose Bowl shows.

With over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Coldplay is among the best-selling music acts of all time. In 2014, Fuse ranked them as the sixth-most awarded group in history, which includes having the most Brit Awards wins by a band. 

Coldplay currently owns three of the 50 highest-selling albums in the UK and the most No. 1 albums in the country (nine) without ever missing the top. 

In 2021, “My Universe” made them the first British group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band also has two of the 10 highest-grossing tours of all time.

Tickets for the second concert on Oct. 1 go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster. Fans can also purchase tickets through Live Nation, Vivid Seats and AllEvents.in.

The Rose Bowl, best known for hosting the annual Rose Bowl college football game and the Tournament of Roses Parade, can seat up to 90,000 people.
