Cooler weather will move into Pasadena this weekend before a warming trend begins Monday, the National Weather Service said Friday.
Highs Friday are expected near 77 degrees with morning clouds clearing by afternoon. Temperatures will dip slightly Saturday and Sunday, reaching the mid-70s, before climbing into the 80s early next week.
The cooling is linked to a weather system sliding into the Great Basin, forecasters said. Winds will remain light in Pasadena, though stronger gusts are expected in mountain and desert areas.
Friday’s conditions include calm winds shifting to light south-southwest breezes around 5 mph. Overnight lows will fall to the mid-50s with increasing cloud cover.
Saturday will bring similar conditions, with a high near 74 degrees and light afternoon winds. Sunday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 75 degrees.
Temperatures will rise Monday to 79 degrees, then continue warming through midweek, reaching 86 degrees by Wednesday. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear.
No precipitation is forecast for Pasadena, though marine layer clouds may appear during morning hours.
The extended forecast calls for dry conditions and continued warming through next week, with highs in the mid-80s and overnight lows in the mid-50s.
