Relief from triple-digit heat is on the way for Pasadena, with forecasters predicting a sharp cooldown beginning Friday. The National Weather Service said temperatures will fall nearly 10 degrees, dropping from highs near 99 on Thursday to the mid-80s by the weekend.
Thursday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 99, with calm winds shifting to a light south-southwest breeze around 5 mph in the afternoon. Overnight lows will remain warm, near 65.
By Friday, highs are expected to reach 86 under mostly sunny skies. Winds will stay light, and nighttime temperatures will hover around 66. Saturday will bring similar conditions, with highs near 86 and lows around 62.
Forecasters said the cooling trend will return Pasadena to seasonal norms after several days of dangerous heat. Temperatures will hold in the mid-to-upper 80s through the weekend, with partly cloudy skies Sunday night.
No rain is forecast for Pasadena, though forecasters noted increasing atmospheric moisture early next week. Highs will gradually climb again, reaching 88 Monday, 90 Tuesday, and 92 Wednesday. Overnight lows will remain in the low-to-mid 60s.
The National Weather Service said the shift is driven by stronger onshore flow, which will bring morning clouds to coastal and valley areas and keep daytime highs in check.
