Authorities have identified the man who had apparently killed himself by jumping off the Colorado Street Bridge at about noon last Friday.
Ed Winter, Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, said the victim has been identified as Jonathan Reid Caluda, 28, from Woodland Hills. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1 p.m.
Police had originally been called about 10:00 a.m. to a residence in the 600 block of West Colorado Boulevard regarding a suicidal person who was missing, according to Police Chief Phillip Sanchez.
On arrival, officers talked with several witnesses and learned the subject had stated his intent to commit suicide. Officers checked several locations where the subject was known to frequent, however, the subject was not located.
Hours later, officers responded to the area under the Colorado Street Bridge and located the dead body of a man in his twenties.
There were no signs of foul play and the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office responded assist with the investigation.
The man had “apparently jumped from the bridge,” Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said.
