
Three men fled with cough syrup following an armed robbery at a Pasadena Walgreens Pharmacy on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The heist took place just after 1 p.m. at the business, 670 N. Lake Ave., Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
After speaking with the pharmacist and wandering around the store for several minutes, they approached the pharmacy counter, he said.
One of the robbers lifted his sweatshirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband as the other two jumped over the counter and began snatching cough syrup before running off, according to the lieutenant.
It was not clear how much medicine was stolen.
The robbers were described as three Black men in their early 20s.
One of them wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants and carried a black handgun, Burgess said.
The second robber wore a light gray sweater and gray pants, while the third wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
