At its December 9, 2015 meeting, Dr. Ross Selvidge was unanimously elected Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Pasadena Area Community College District.
Elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2013, Selvidge represents Area 1 which consists of west Pasadena, the western portion of Altadena, and the City of La Canada Flintridge.
Selvidge stated “I will continue to emphasize quality instruction, fiscal accountability, and increasing access to classes so that students are not prevented from getting the courses they need to maintain progress toward their degree.”
Legislation passed in fall 2015 has made it easier for California community colleges to offer courses that enable high school students to earn college credits while still in high school. Selvidge says “It will be an important priority at PCC to greatly expand those opportunities so that high school students in the District can earn college credits prior to graduation.”
Selvidge, a former instructor at USC, also serves as a Commissioner of the Burbank Glendale Pasadena Airport Authority.
