Pasadena Fire Station 38 reopened Nov. 13, 2024, as city leaders celebrated the restoration of round-the-clock emergency services to the Linda Vista neighborhood following extensive seismic retrofitting and structural repairs.
Mayor Victor Gordo led city officials gathered at 1150 Linda Vista Avenue for a grand reopening ceremony marking the station’s return to service.
The facility had been temporarily closed to undergo mandatory earthquake safety upgrades to ensure the safety of both firefighters and residents.
The renovation project included reinforcing support beams and modernizing the facility to meet current seismic codes, ensuring the building’s integrity during potential earthquakes.
City Manager Miguel Márquez, Fire Chief Chad Augustin, and Councilmember Steve Madison led the ceremony. Acting Assistant City Manager Matt Hawkesworth, Deputy Fire Chief Anthony James, and Acting Director Kris Markarian also attended the event.
The station now operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing essential fire and emergency services to the Linda Vista community.
