The National Weather Service says the pattern of low morning clouds is expected to evaporate as a heat wave sweeps into Southern California.
Tuesday becomes the last morning when patchy fog is visible over Pasadena before 11 a.m., and then turns into cloudiness by mid-morning before gradually clearing. A high near 79 is expected with a light south wind becoming south southwest at five to 10 miles per hour in the afternoon.
Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low around 57 and winds of five to 10 mph becoming light southeast in the evening.
Wednesday will be sunny early in the day, with a high near 79, and Wednesday night will be mostly clear, low around 57.
Thursday is going to be sunny and the maximum temperatures start rising by this time as a potentially hazardous heat wave – the big weather story for the week – starts. Thursday’s highs will be near 80 and lows around 57 Thursday night.
“On Friday, a large and hot upper level high develops over the Arizona and New Mexico area and begins to expand to the west,” says a NWS forecast discussion about the incoming heat wave. “Maximum temps will jump four to eight degrees and most areas will see above normal temps.”
Friday’s highs will be near 86 and the whole day will be sunny.
