Residents struggling with housing issues or public benefits can receive free legal help at a monthly clinic held the third Tuesday of every month at the Jackie Robinson Community Center.
The Homelessness Prevention Legal Clinic, sponsored by Public Counsel in partnership with the City of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, offers Know Your Rights presentations on housing or public benefits topics followed by one-on-one consultations with attorneys. The next clinic is scheduled for January 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The clinic is open to individuals who need legal assistance but lack the resources to hire an attorney. Income limits apply. No appointment is necessary; services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees are asked to bring all documents related to their case.
Public Counsel, which sponsors the clinic, is the nation’s largest public interest law firm and has provided pro bono legal services since 1970. The Homelessness Prevention Law Project provides services including tenant counseling, eviction defense, and government benefits advocacy.
The clinic addresses housing and public benefits matters only. Topics covered in the Know Your Rights presentations vary by session.
The Jackie Robinson Community Center is located at 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave. in Pasadena and is accessible by public transportation.
