Free Virtual Job Fair Targets Pasadena-Area Workers on May 14

Pasadena-area residents looking for work can register now for a free virtual job fair scheduled for May 14, one of a handful of no-cost hiring events aimed at the city this spring as California’s unemployment rate continues to run above the national average. 

Best Hire Career Fairs, a Las Vegas-based company that organizes hiring events nationwide, will host the four-hour virtual fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The company says the event will connect job seekers directly with hiring managers and recruiters from companies spanning healthcare, technology, finance, education, manufacturing, hospitality, and dozens of other industries, according to the event’s Eventbrite listing. Registration is free. 

California’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 5.3% in March 2026, according to the state Employment Development Department — above the most recent national rate of 4.4% reported in February. Los Angeles County’s unadjusted rate was 5.1% that same month. The state lost 19,900 nonfarm payroll jobs in February, the first monthly decline since September 2025, the EDD reported. 

The virtual format means participants need only an internet connection to attend. There is no physical venue. Job seekers can register through Eventbrite at no charge; employers interested in exhibiting can contact Best Hire Career Fairs at (888) 899-8802. 

Best Hire Career Fairs says it has more than two decades of experience organizing hiring events and has hosted more than 1,400 events nationally, drawing a combined total of more than 495,000 attendees, according to the company’s Eventbrite organizer profile. The company currently lists 140 upcoming events in cities across the country. 

The Pasadena event is one of several virtual job fairs available to local residents this spring. DiversityX Career Fairs listed a separate Pasadena virtual fair for May 6. Locally, the Foothill Workforce Development Board, based at 1207 East Green Street offers year-round job search assistance, skills assessment, career counseling, and training referrals to San Gabriel Valley residents and can be reached at (626) 796-5627. 

Best Hire Career Fairs’ website describes the Pasadena job market as active in healthcare, information technology, finance, and education, according to the company’s Pasadena event page.
