Arizmendi was a Pasadena businesswoman and philanthropist.
According to her husband, Andrew Arizmendi, Liz was an avid athlete. It is his goal to honor her passion for athletics and her battle with cancer with this fundraiser, culminating in a CrossFit Challenge in Santa Barbara on December 3.
Liz was an ardent supporter of Cancer Support Community both in Pasadena and in the Santa Barbara area, so the two affiliates are collaborating on this fundraising opportunity.
“I want to do this fundraiser to benefit both Cancer Support Community organizations because we had such deep connections to both communities,” Andrew said. “She raised millions for charity throughout her life and this is just another way to honor her memory and raise money for two very worthy organizations.”
Friends, family, and supporters are encouraged to support Andrew’s CrossFit challenge by forming a team to
compete on December 3 d at CrossFit Santa Barbara, or by making a direct donation to the event in Liz’s memory via http://crossfit.causevox.com.
All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Support Community. All donors of $75+ will receive a custom t-shirt commemorating the event. The event will be held at CrossFit Santa Barbara at 8:00am, 264 Orange Avenue, Goleta CA. Founded in 2008, CrossFit Santa Barbara is the longest running CrossFit gym in the Santa Barbara area.
