A man armed with a handgun held up a Pasadena gas station on Monday night, police said.

The crime took place at about 8:10 p.m. at a 76 Station at Glenarm Street and Arroyo Parkway, according to Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema.

“The suspect entered the store of the gas station and walked behind the counter,” Hettema said. “He removed a firearm from his jacket and pointed it in the area where the victim stood.”

The robber ordered the clerk, a 28-year-old Los Angeles woman, to empty the cash register and place the money in a gray supermarket grocery bag he had brought with him, the lieutenant said.

Once the victim complied, the robber ran off. He was last seen heading east on Glenarm Street.

Police described the robber as an Asian man in his late 20s to early 30s with short hair. He wore a facemask, a black shirt, a jacket, and carried a black pistol.
