Harvest Festival Brings Community Together for a Great Cause

Published on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 | 3:39 pm

Mayfield Junior School’s eighth grade class hosted the annual Halloween Harvest Festival on Friday, October 26. The festival brings the entire community together for good food, costume parades, a raffle and many games and booths – all for a great cause. This highly anticipated event was once again a great success thanks to the tireless efforts of dedicated eighth graders.

The Harvest Festival is an annual student fundraising event organized and produced entirely by the eighth grade class with all proceeds supporting the school’s Reach Out program. The students solicit donations, book vendors, organize, build and man the booths and market the event to the community. The money raised is traditionally reserved and added to other annual fundraiser proceeds to be given away to charities and organization chosen by the eighth grade class at the end of the school year.
