Hot weather will continue in Pasadena through Friday, with highs in the mid-90s, before cooler temperatures and a slight chance of showers arrive this weekend, forecasters said Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles said a strong ridge of high pressure will keep temperatures above normal through the end of the week. Highs are expected to reach 94 degrees Wednesday, 96 degrees Thursday and 92 degrees Friday.
Today’s conditions will be sunny with light southwest winds around 5 mph. Overnight lows will remain in the low 60s.
Forecasters said temperatures will ease Saturday, with highs near 88 degrees under partly sunny skies. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with highs around 89 degrees. A slight chance of showers is possible late Sunday night into Monday.
The National Weather Service said Monday could bring isolated showers with highs near 91 degrees. Skies are expected to clear Tuesday, with highs around 93 degrees.
A heat advisory remains in effect for the Los Angeles valleys and interior areas through Friday. Officials urged residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours and check on vulnerable neighbors.
