Heat Wave to Bring 90-Degree Temperatures to Pasadena Next Week

Something of a mini-heat wave will bring temperatures soaring into the 90s across the Pasadena area by midweek, the National Weather Service said Friday.

The warming trend begins today and will intensify through next Wednesday, pushing thermometer readings 12 to 18 degrees above normal for early April.

Currently experiencing mild conditions with temperatures slightly below normal, Pasadena will see a steady warming climb over the weekend. Meantime today’s high will only reach the upper 60s under sunny skies.

“The most significant warming occurs Tuesday and Wednesday when temperatures will surge 4-8 degrees each day,” National Weather Service forecasters said.

The agency indicates a 30 percent chance that heat advisories may be needed for valley areas, including portions of Pasadena, as next week progresses.

Saturday, temperatures will climb to the low to mid-70s as weak Santa Ana winds develop from the northeast. Sunday continues the warming trend with temperatures reaching the upper 70s to around 80 degrees.

After a brief one-day cooling on Monday, temperatures will surge Tuesday and Wednesday, potentially reaching the upper 80s to low 90s.

No precipitation is expected throughout the forecast period, with dry conditions persisting for at least the next seven days as high pressure dominates the region.
