An apartment bedroom fire on the seventh floor of the Pilgrim Tower North building in the 500 block of East Villa St. shortly before 1:00 a.m. Sunday caused no injuries but an estimated $200,000 in damages, the Pasadena Fire Dept. reports.
A fire sprinkler kept the fire in check, allowing firefighters to quickly extinguish the remaining flames and ventilate the building of smoke.
Residents in the immediate fire area were evacuated to the lobby. Other Tower residents were sheltered in place within their own apartments.
The resident in the involved unit was displaced and made arrangements to stay with family. All other residents were able to reoccupy their apartments.
No cause for the fire has yet been determined.
