A hiker was rescued from Eaton Canyon after suffering a lower leg injury on Sunday, September 24. The Pasadena Fire Department Urban Search and Rescue, along with Altadena Search and Rescue, hiked in to the incident around 12:41 p.m., officials said.
The injured hiker was located below the waterfalls in the canyon.
The rescue operation also included assistance from four members of Altadena Search and Rescue.
The hiker was treated for a lower leg injury on scene. Personnel deployed a device used to transport injured individuals over rough terrain called “the wheel” to transfer the hiker from the trail to a rescue ambulance for additional evaluation and treatment.
The hiker was then transported to a local emergency room, according to the Pasadena Fire Dept.
