John Mellon has joined Armstrong Growers, a division of Armstrong Garden Centers as their new sales manager. After his 32-year career as general manager at Coiner Nursery, John will be spearheading Armstrong’s expansion into Northern California. Existing markets in Southern California, Utah, Las Vegas, and Arizona will benefit from his enthusiasm for horticulture and customer relationships.

“I would like to impact Armstrong Growers and Armstrong Garden Centers by demonstrating dedication and drive, utilizing my skills developed over the course of my years of experience in the nursery industry,” says Mellon.

John was in charge of all operations at Coiner, including the management of key accounts and independent sales teams, and also looks to bring his product development and retail packaging experience to the position. Armstrong Growers is known for their expert care in customer service, and John is excited to lead the Armstrong sales team to the next level.

“I will use my experience to manage my sales team, to drive sales, and help Armstrong Growers and Armstrong Gardens Centers continue on the path of excellence that has been established over the last 125 years,” Mellon continues.

Armstrong Growers was established in 1989 by Armstrong Garden Centers’ CEO, Mike Kunce. This division was developed in an ongoing effort to maintain high horticultural standards to allow for full control of plant quality from start to finish. Armstrong Growers strive to provide a wide selection of Grade #1 plants to landscapers, retailers, and resorts that are new and different, thoroughly tested, and top-quality.
