A 43-year-old Pasadena man was arrested Thursday night after reportedly firing shots at his girlfriend during an argument at a North Fair Oaks Avenue residence, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.
Davon Thomas was taken into custody without incident after briefly negotiating with officers by phone.
Thomas was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, Campeau said.
The incident began around 7:15 p.m. Thursday when police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1900 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue, Campeau said.
Before officers arrived, the 34-year-old victim had called 911 alleging her boyfriend had shot at her while she was inside the residence.
The victim, who had fled on foot, confirmed to dispatchers that she was uninjured, according to Campeau.
Upon arrival, officers first safely removed Thomas’s mother from the house, Campeau said.
Police then reportedly contacted the suspect by phone to de-escalate the situation.
After a few minutes of negotiation, the suspect exited the house and was taken into custody without any further incident, Campeau said.
Officers allegedly recovered the handgun used in the incident along with four shell casings at the scene, according to Campeau.
No injuries were reported to anyone involved in the incident.
