Police in Pasadena have picked up a pair of perpetrators with a penchant for 7-Elevens.
Tujunga resident Adrian Hernandez, 23, was arrested Saturday after he allegedly robbed at least two 7-Eleven stores and was trying to rob a third.
Pasadena Police said Hernandez and his accused getaway driver, 24-year-old Elizabeth Padilla of Arleta, hit the 7-Eleven at 690 N. Lake Ave. just before 4 p.m. Saturday. As police were investigating that crime, they got a call that a man fitting the description from the first robbery was pointing a gun at the cashier at the 7-Eleven at 2717 E. Colorado Blvd.
“So officers began conducting extra services, extra service checks at the seven 11 located within our city and located the suspect vehicle in a 3600 block of E. Colorado Blvd. in the parking lot behind the 7-Eleven,” Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Russo said. “Officers witnessed the suspect matching the description enter the 7-Eleven and they began to evacuate the 7-Eleven when the suspect walked out.”
Lt. Russo said Hernandez tried to run but was caught and arrested about 5 p.m. Saturday.
“The handgun was recovered at the scene as well as loss from the robberies,” Russo added. “The investigation revealed that the guy was likely involved in several other 7-Eleven robberies that had occurred within that time frame.”
