A 22-year-old transient was able this morning to get onto the lot of a Pasadena Land Rover dealership, change into some employee clothes, take some keys – but unable to unlock a gate in an attempt to steal a vehicle.
Police were able to apprehend Mychal Poole, who reportedly lived out of state, and arrest him on suspicion of burglary, said Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson.
Officers were dispatched to the Land Rover dealership in the 3400 block of Colorado Boulevard at 2:05 a.m., Clawson said.
They were sent to the location from a surveillance company that reportedly spotted Poole walking near a back gate, near the service base, he said.
“Basically, it (the service base) was gated off.,†Clawson said. “No one should have been in there.â€
Officers located Poole hiding underneath a vehicle, with keys to two different vehicles and wearing employee clothing.
“It appeared that he had climbed over a fence, located clothing and keys,†Clawson said. “It appeared as though he was trying to steal a car, but couldn’t get a gate open.â€
