Man Stabbed in Early Morning Attack in Old Pasadena

A 34-year-old Pasadena man was treated for a neck laceration after being stabbed by an unknown assailant early Thursday near Arroyo Parkway and Holly Street, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.

Campeau said that officers responded to Huntington Hospital at approximately 6:33 a.m. on Thursday, April 24 after the victim arrived for treatment. The man told police he had been attacked earlier that morning while walking away from his residence in the area.

According to Campeau, the victim said a Hispanic man unknown to him approached, made incoherent statements, and attempted to strike him.

The suspect missed, and the victim swung back in self-defense before both men separated.

Campeau said the victim was unaware he had been injured until a passerby informed him he was bleeding from the neck. The victim then transported himself to the hospital, where he received medical care for the laceration.

The suspect remains unidentified, described only as an adult Hispanic man.

 Campeau said the weapon was possibly a knife, but no weapon was recovered at the scene. The victim did not provide any further description of the suspect, and no witnesses were located, Lt. Campeau said.

Campeau noted that the victim provided limited information. No surveillance footage was found, and the investigation remains ongoing.
