A 30-year-old Chino man was stabbed early Saturday morning following a confrontation outside a nightclub in Old Pasadena, according to police.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on March 29 near Raymond Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau said.
The victim told officers he had stepped outside the nightclub to smoke a cigarette when he was approached by a 26-year-old Hispanic man who challenged him to fight, Campeau said. When the suspect invaded the victim’s personal space in a threatening manner, the victim pushed the suspect away.
According to Campeau, the suspect then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the right triceps, causing a four-inch laceration.
Several witnesses intervened to separate the two men, Campeau stated. The suspect then fled to his vehicle parked on the 40 block of South Raymond Avenue and left the area.
Pasadena officers on foot patrol responded to the assault with a deadly weapon call and arrived to find the injured victim, Campeau said.
The victim received initial treatment from Pasadena Fire Department personnel, said Campeau.
No one else was injured in the incident, according to Campeau.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
