In a Thanksgiving message to the community, Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo expressed deep gratitude and highlighted the city’s spirit of unity and service.

Mayor Gordo wrote that his office assisted in the distribution of over 1,000 turkeys to residents and community-serving organizations this past week, and emphasized the importance of interconnectedness in the community.

He praised Pasadena’s residents, businesses, City staff, and organizations for their continual support and collaboration.

The Mayor also extended special thanks to those working during the holiday, including first responders, utility crews, and medical staff, recognizing their essential contributions.

Here is the Mayor’s Thanksgiving message in full:

Dear Neighbors and Friends:

I trust this message finds you and your loved ones well, healthy, and safe.

On this Thanksgiving day, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very happy and safe holiday season. I also wanted to share with you a few brief updates.

As our office assisted in the distribution of over 1,000 turkeys to residents and community-serving organizations this past week, I was reminded of the importance of sharing gratitude and remembering our interconnectedness, and how events such as these bring our community together.

I am thankful for this community of ours, one filled with residents, organizations, faith communities, local businesses, city staff, institutions, and neighbors such as yourselves, that look out for and support one another always. This Thanksgiving, I am filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who contributes to making Pasadena the special place it is. To all the residents who tirelessly volunteer their time, energy, and resources to help our community thrive, your dedication to fostering a sense of unity and kindness is truly inspiring.

I also want to give special thanks to those who will work over the Thanksgiving holiday: our first responders, public works crews, water and power crews, grocery store workers, hospitality workers, medical staff, and caretakers in medical facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. We see you and are grateful for your service to our community.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with your concerns, questions, or suggestions.

Mayor Victor M. Gordo
