The International Cannabis Consulting Business Women’s Association (ICBWA) is set to host the ICBWA Medicinal Cannabis Experts Conference in Pasadena on Aug. 22.
The event, themed “Unleash Yor Power!” promises an immersive and educational experience for industry professionals and enthusiasts.
Scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 155 South Fair Oaks Avenue, the conference aims to explore the latest developments in medicinal cannabis. Organizers say the event will focus on awakening the healer within participants, emphasizing the therapeutic potential of cannabis.
The conference comes as California maintains its significant role in cannabis regulation and industry development. The state legalized medicinal cannabis with the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and has since permitted adult-use consumption under state law.
Attendees can expect discussions on various aspects of medicinal cannabis, including its history, pharmacology, and therapeutic uses. The drug is used to treat conditions such as chronic pain, diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Despite growing acceptance at the state level, cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance federally. This classification indicates a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
The ICBWA, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, aims to empower women in the cannabis industry. It seeks to help women unleash their potential as business owners and serve as a premier resource for entrepreneurs navigating the emerging cannabis market.
This conference highlights the increasing role of women in the cannabis sector. It provides an opportunity for professionals to share knowledge and discuss challenges and opportunities in the field.
