A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Monday, December 16 at 8:30 a.m. for a Baldwin Park man charged with murder in the 2020 fatal stabbing of a man in a busy Pasadena shopping area.
Enrique Antonio Real will appear in Department F of the Pasadena Courthouse at 300 E. Walnut St. Real faces one count of murder in the death of Christopher Flores, 30, of Altadena, on September 11, 2020.
The stabbing occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy at 20 E. Orange Grove Boulevard, at the intersection with Fair Oaks Avenue. According to police reports, Real and Flores, who were known to each other, were walking through the parking lot when Real allegedly stabbed Flores multiple times.
Multiple witnesses reportedly called police after observing the attack. First responders found Flores bleeding profusely on the ground and rushed him to Huntington Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Real attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended without incident after witnesses directed police through an alley where they had seen him running. Officers allegedly recovered a bloodied knife from the scene.
Real has remained in custody since his arrest, with bail set at $2.02 million. The case has seen multiple court appearances since 2020, including a preliminary hearing in January 2022 and a pretrial hearing in November 2022.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is prosecuting the case. Real is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
