Pasadena’s Planning Commission will hold a study session on the North Lake Specific Plan update at its meeting Wednesday evening.
The 6:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall will focus on integrating public realm recommendations from the commission’s subcommittee into the draft plan. The Department of Planning and Community Development will present updates on their efforts to incorporate the subcommittee’s input.
The North Lake Specific Plan study sessions represent an ongoing effort to update planning guidelines for the area. Wednesday’s session will help inform preparation of the proposed plan, which will return to the commission for formal review at a future meeting.
No decisions will be made during the study session, according to the agenda.
The commission will also elect new officers during the meeting.
The current leadership includes Chair Carol Hunt Hernandez, Vice-Chair Lambert Giessinger and Secretary Jennifer Higginbotham.
Nine commissioners serve on the body, representing different districts and an at-large position. The commission typically meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
The meeting will include approval of minutes from meetings held on May 8 and May 22.
Commissioners will also hear reports from various committees and subcommittees. These include updates from the Design Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Capital Improvement Program Subcommittee and Reconnecting Communities 710 Advisory Group.
The meeting will be livestreamed with captioning at pasadenamedia.org and the city’s website. Virtual participants can join through the city’s Zoom platform or by calling 1-669-900-6833.
The Planning Commission oversees development projects and zoning matters throughout Pasadena. Staff support comes from the city’s Planning and Community Development Department.
