Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School Names New Vice President of Academic Affairs

Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School, a pioneer in early childhood education, has appointed Dr. Gabe Jones, Ph.D., as its new Vice President of Academic Affairs. The announcement, made on Friday, underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Dr. Jones, who has over 15 years of experience in higher education administration, joins Pacific Oaks at a time of growth and expansion. The college, known for its innovative teacher preparation programs, offers degrees in various fields including social work and business management.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jones to Pacific Oaks,” said Dr. Breeda McGrath, President of the college. She emphasized the value of Dr. Jones’s experience in academic leadership and accreditation processes for the institution’s future developments.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jones has held significant leadership positions in academic institutions across the United States. His roles have included National Director of Academics at SAE Institute North America and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Art Institute of California — Hollywood.

Dr. Jones’s extensive teaching background, spanning over two decades, includes positions at prestigious institutions such as UCLA and San Diego State University. This blend of administrative and teaching experience is expected to benefit Pacific Oaks significantly.

Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School, founded in 1945, is recognized for pioneering anti-bias curricula and launching one of the nation’s first Head Start training programs. The institution offers both in-person and online programs tailored to student needs.

The college is part of The Community Solution Education System, a nonprofit network of six educational institutions. Dr. Michael Horowitz, Chancellor of the system, welcomed Dr. Jones, highlighting the collaborative nature of their academic leadership community.

Since joining The Community Solution in 2010, Pacific Oaks has expanded its educational offerings to include a doctoral program and over 20 academic areas. The institution continues to focus on providing quality education in early childhood development and related fields.
