Pasadena-based Wetzel’s Pretzels has opened a prototype drive-thru location in Hemet, bringing an iconic snack to drive-thru and convenience store formats, QSRweb reported last week.
In a statement, Jennifer Schuler, Wetzel’s Pretzels CEO, said the new location shows how the company can adapt easily to local market needs.
“The drive-thru option in Hemet is a great way to ensure a tasty and reliable snack or meal option for anyone who wants a delicious pretzel in a pinch,” Schuler said. “Whether it be an afterschool snack between extracurriculars or a quick bite on a cross-country road trip, there’s a perfect option for everyone.”
After Hemet, Wetzel’s Pretzels is speaking with its franchisees about opening additional drive-thru locations.
The Hemet store was opened by local businessman David Bermudez. The drive-thru is an added feature location, which just opened last August.. The store is at 710 N. Sanderson Ave. in the Zanderson Plaza, close to popular shopping destinations along West Florida Ave.
“On-the-go options are the future of the food industry, making this an exceptional concept for growth,” Bermudez told QSRweb. “I’m thrilled to be a part of Wetzel’s. We are well on our way to national dominance.”
Since 1994, when the brand opened its first store in Redondo Beach, Wetzel’s Pretzels has grown to more than 300 stores across the United States.
