Most City of Pasadena offices and services will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day, while emergency operations will remain fully staffed, city officials announced.

City Hall, the Permit Center, the Housing Department, the City Service Center and all Pasadena Public Library branches will be closed for the holiday. The Housing Department’s lobby closed Monday, though staff remained available by phone and email. Trash and recycling services will operate on regular schedules, and Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride will maintain normal service. Parks will remain open for recreation, though no site reservations will be accepted.

Parking meters will be free on Tuesday, and time limits will not be enforced. However, red curb violations, overnight parking infractions and fire hydrant obstructions will still be cited. Full enforcement resumes Wednesday.

The Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will continue regular patrol, jail, fire and paramedic operations. Residents are advised to call 9-1-1 for emergencies or (626) 744-4241 to report suspicious activity. For power emergencies, call (626) 744-4673; for water emergencies, call (626) 744-4138.

The city will host a public Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave., honoring Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Col. Raymond G. Harvey (1920–1996). Harvey served in Europe during World War II and received the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Korean War.

Residents are encouraged to attend the ceremony and join neighbors, officials and veterans in paying tribute to those who served.
