The Pasadena Design Commission will reconvene on Tuesday, April 22 and consider a concept design review for a major senior living development in Council District 5.
The meeting’s main agenda item features the continued review of plans for a new residential care facility at 861 East Walnut Street. According to City documents, the proposed six-story, 83,105-square-foot development would include 50 assisted living units and 30 memory care units, along with subterranean parking.
The project, which was continued from the Commission’s February 11 meeting, is being presented by applicant HSB Pasadena, LLC and architect Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh, AIA, with Commonsense Momentum, LLC as the property owner.
The Commission also will hear comments and reports from staff, Commission members, and various committees including the Urban Forestry Advisory Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Commission, Transportation Advisory Commission, and Arts & Culture Commission.
Composed of representatives from various city bodies and districts, the Commission is chaired by Julianna Delgado. Currently, there is a vacant position for the At Large/District 5 representative.
The Design Commission meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, Room S249, at 100 North Garfield Avenue. Meetings are regularly held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
