Pasadena Enjoys Refreshing Cooldown Before Weekend Warm-Up

A cooling trend will continue through Thursday, with daytime highs falling below normal as marine layer clouds linger, according to National Weather Service forecasters in Los Angeles/Oxnard.

Daytime temperatures in Pasadena will reach 86 on Wednesday under partly sunny skies, with light southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low near 61.

Forecasters said Thursday will bring partly sunny skies and a high near 82. Winds will remain light from the south-southwest. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 83, continuing the cooling pattern.

Highs across the San Gabriel Valley will run 4 to 8 degrees below normal through Thursday, with some areas cooling by as much as 10 degrees. The National Weather Service noted that marine layer clouds will slow afternoon clearing and may limit sunshine in Pasadena.

No rain is forecast for Pasadena, though thunderstorms remain possible in mountain areas through Wednesday night. Winds in Pasadena will stay light.

The weekend outlook shows gradual warming. Saturday will be sunny with a high near 86, and Sunday will reach 88 under clear skies. Overnight lows will remain in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Forecasters said the marine layer will continue to affect Pasadena, with morning fog possible during commutes. Clearing will be slower than normal, keeping afternoons cooler and cloudier than typical August conditions.

Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually warm early next week, reaching highs near 89 by Monday and Tuesday. Even with the warming trend, highs will remain slightly below normal.
