Pasadena Fire Chief Augustin to Join Community at FitSport Kinetics Toy Drive Event

FitSport Kinetics, a local fitness center, is hosting a toy drive on Tuesday, December 19, starting at 8:30 a.m. The event invites community members to bring a new unwrapped toy, sports equipment, or gift card and enjoy a free workout session.

The toy drive is part of ABC7’s Spark of Love initiative, which collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for underserved children and teens in our community. The Spark of Love Toy Drive, now in its 31st year, is the largest community toy drive in the nation and has successfully collected more than ten million toys over the past decades.

The event will feature a special guest, Pasadena Fire Chief Augustin, who will be working out alongside participants. Chief Augustin, who has served in a broad range of areas including operations, administration, human resources, professional standards, training, emergency medical services, and fire prevention, is known for his community involvement and dedication to public safety.

FitSport Kinetics, located at 801 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, offers a variety of fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels. For this event, participants who bring a donation will have the opportunity to join any of the fitness classes offered that day for free.

Subaru, the presenting sponsor of the event, has been a long-time supporter of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. For every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased in Southern California, Subaru of America Retailers will make an additional donation to the ABC7 “Spark of Love” Toy Drive.

The collected toys, sports equipment, and gift cards will be distributed to underserved children and teens in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura, and Riverside counties. The toy drive will run through December 24, 2023.
