For the first time ever, Pasadena Humane announced it will open for walk-in adoptions on January 1, following the Rose Parade appearance of its float urging pet adoptions..

The shelter will welcome visitors from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering an immediate opportunity for parade viewers moved by the sight of three adoptable dogs—Rex, Moto, and Alfie—on the Pasadena Humane and Hill’s Pet Nutrition float.

The initiative is part of a broader Welcome Home adoption campaign that aims to connect shelter animals with permanent homes.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition has pledged up to $130,000 to offset adoption costs at participating shelters nationwide, demonstrating their commitment to the campaign.

The Dog Bakery contributed to the celebration by providing Welcome Home and Best Day Ever dog cookies for the canine float riders.

The three featured dogs, accompanied by their foster parents, visited the Artistic Entertainment Services float barn ahead of their parade appearance.
