A 25-year-old Pasadena man was arrested early Saturday morning after fleeing from police and discarding a loaded ghost gun, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
Officers attempted to contact a suspicious individual at approximately 3:10 a.m. in the 800 block of North Raymond Avenue, Cuellar said. The man, later identified as Deonte Devel, fled southbound while clutching his waistband and ran to the rear of a residence where he did not live.
Police detained Devel and retraced his flight path, locating a 9mm ghost gun in the front yard of the property where he was apprehended, Cuellar said.
Devel denied the firearm was his, but was arrested on firearm-related charges.
No injuries were reported and no narcotics were recovered, Cuellar confirmed.
