Pasadena Temperatures to Peak Tuesday Before Brief Cooling

National Weather Service forecasts brief cooling mid-week, then climb to 90 degrees Sunday

Temperatures in Pasadena will reach 86 degrees Tuesday before cooling briefly mid-week and climbing to 90 degrees by Sunday, National Weather Service forecasters said Monday.

The warming trend continues through Tuesday with mostly sunny skies. A brief cooling period begins Wednesday, dropping temperatures to the 84-85 degree range through Friday. Weekend warming resumes with Saturday reaching 87 degrees.

Monday’s high near 82 degrees follows patchy morning fog that clears by 11:00 a.m. Light south winds strengthen to 5-10 mph from the south-southwest during afternoon hours.

The persistent June Gloom pattern affects morning conditions throughout the week. Patchy fog develops after 11 p.m. most nights, particularly Tuesday through Friday, then clears by late morning.

Inland valley temperatures run 6-10 degrees above normal for early June, though no records are expected to be broken, forecasters said.

As an inland valley community, Pasadena will experience more pronounced warming compared to coastal areas that remain locked in marine layer clouds. The warming trend particularly affects the San Gabriel Valley, where temperatures climb well above the 60s-70s range seen at beaches.

No heat warnings are anticipated despite above-normal temperatures. The June Gloom pattern provides natural air conditioning through marine layer clouds and moderate onshore flow.

Weekend weather favors outdoor activities with Saturday bringing mostly sunny skies after morning fog clears. Sunday looks even warmer with sunny conditions perfect for Father’s Day celebrations.

Wind patterns remain relatively benign with light variable conditions in the morning transitioning to south and southwest breezes of 5-10 mph during afternoon hours.
