Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride Offer Free Rides to Voters on Election Day

Metro offers free rides, too

Published on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 6:12 am

Voters in Pasadena will have access to free public transportation today, Tuesday, November 4, as Pasadena Transit and Pasadena Dial-A-Ride waive fares to support civic participation. The fare-free policy applies to all riders and is intended to reduce transportation barriers to polling places and ballot drop boxes across the city.

The fare waiver coincides with similar policies enacted by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and LADOT Transit.

Most polling places and ballot drop boxes in Pasadena are located within a quarter mile of a Pasadena Transit stop, enhancing accessibility for voters without private transportation. The program is expected to benefit seniors, disabled residents, and others who rely on public transit for mobility.

California law encourages transit agencies to reduce or waive fares on Election Days to promote voter access. Pasadena’s participation reflects a countywide pattern of fare waivers during recent election cycles.

As of this morning, free rides are active across Pasadena Transit, Dial-A-Ride, Metro, LADOT, and other participating agencies throughout Los Angeles County.
