Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride will provide free transportation services on Tuesday, November 5 to help voters reach polling locations.
The initiative, which runs from midnight to 11:59 p.m., aims to increase voter participation by eliminating transportation costs as a potential barrier.
The majority of polling places and drop boxes for mail-in ballots in Pasadena fall within a quarter-mile of a Pasadena Transit bus stop.
All Pasadena Transit routes will be available, including Route 10, the Downtown Pasadena Shuttle, which serves key areas such as Old Pasadena, the Civic Center District, Pasadena Playhouse Village, South Lake Avenue Shopping District, Caltech, and Allen Station.
Additional Routes 20, 31, 32, 40, 51, and 52 provide comprehensive coverage across Pasadena.
While rides are free, standard transit rules and regulations remain in effect.
The free service includes Dial-A-Ride, which typically serves seniors aged 60 and older and individuals with disabilities. In fiscal year 2022, Pasadena Transit served over 1.1 million riders, reaching approximately 90% of pre-pandemic levels, while Dial-A-Ride provided more than 44,000 rides during the same period.
The initiative extends beyond Pasadena, with several Los Angeles County transit agencies participating.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority will offer free bus and train rides, plus free 30-minute bike share rides using promo code 110524. Metro Micro service will be available using coupon code Vote24.
Residents can plan their routes using PasadenaTransit.net, making this an excellent opportunity to experience the city’s public transportation at no cost.
