Pasadena Unified School District Announces 2025-26 Open Enrollment

The Pasadena Unified School District unveiled its open enrollment schedule for the 2025-2026 academic year, offering families multiple application windows. The process begins with sibling and program priority applications from October 22 at 9 a.m. to November 12 at 4 p.m.

Eligible applicants for this initial phase include siblings of currently enrolled Pasadena Unified School District students who reside at the same address and will attend the same school or program concurrently. 

Additionally, current Pasadena Unified School District students advancing to 6th or 9th grades and continuing in specialized programs like IB, magnet, dual language, or Math Academy may apply.

Results for this phase will be available online by December 3 at 11:59 p.m., with accepted offers due by December 13 at 4 p.m. Neighborhood school registration for new K-12 students will commence on December 3.

A first lottery, scheduled from January 8 at 9 a.m. to January 24, 2025, at 4 p.m., will cater to TK students residing in Pasadena Unified School District, with applications required for all TKs. K-12 students seeking dual language programs or schools outside their neighborhood can also apply during this period.

This lottery also includes children of full-time Pasadena Unified School District and City of Pasadena employees, families who missed the sibling/program priority period, and continuing Pasadena Unified School District students wishing to transfer from their current lottery school to their neighborhood school for 2025-26.

The second lottery, running from January 25 at 9 a.m. to February 26, 2025, at 4 p.m., is open to TK-12 students residing in Pasadena Unified School District who have not yet applied and students living outside the District with required interdistrict permits.

Pasadena Unified School District will continue accepting applications from February 27 to August 1, 2025, for students who missed earlier lotteries and throughout the school year for new-to-Pasadena Unified School District students. Lottery participants not offered their first choice may remain on waitlists for their preferred choices until August 1, 2025.

The District encourages families to visit pusd.us/enroll for more information and to submit applications through the designated online portal at pusd.schoolmint.com during the specified periods. Results and acceptance deadlines vary for each application phase.
