The National Women’s Political Caucus Greater Pasadena Area (NWPC-GPA) will host a Holiday Meet & Greet on Monday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at 455 S. Lake Ave. in Pasadena to introduce its newly elected executive leadership team and preview its 2026 programming. The event is designed to foster community connections, encourage civic participation, and celebrate women’s political leadership across the region.
“This is an opportunity to connect with powerful community voices and meet our new board—a dynamic team ready to lead us into an impactful new year,” according to the NWPC-GPA event announcement.
The gathering will feature meaningful conversations, a sneak peek at the 2026 lineup of guest speakers and events, and opportunities to network with changemakers, advocates, and leaders. Attendees are encouraged to bring their passion, ideas, and holiday spirit. The event also serves as a call to action for civic engagement: “Renew your NWPC-GPA membership or join for the first time! Your voice matters. Your presence matters. Your membership matters.”
The NWPC-GPA, a multi-partisan grassroots organization, serves five communities in the northeast Los Angeles County region: Pasadena, Altadena, Glendale, Sierra Madre, and La Cañada Flintridge. The caucus was originally founded in the 1970s and rechartered in 2019. It operates under the umbrella of the National Women’s Political Caucus, founded in 1971, and is one of 11 local chapters affiliated with the National Women’s Political Caucus of California.
The newly elected executive board, as of November, includes Chair Tamerlin Godley, Vice Chair Kristine Lowe, Secretary Sohini Ray, Treasurer Gail Morris, and State Caucus Representative Joy McCreary. Other officers include Lisa Krose, Political Action Committee chair; Jennifer Hall Lee, education and training chair; Shauna Clark, membership-administration chair; and Sandy Greenstein, membership outreach chair. The communications position is currently vacant.
Under the leadership of past chair Charlotte “Char” Bland, who was elected in August as first vice president and vice president of membership west for the National Women’s Political Caucus, the local chapter saw membership grow from 35 to more than 125 members. Bland’s tenure also marked the caucus’s 50th anniversary celebration in September, where longtime member Jeanne Register received the Lifetime Service Award and Juanita West Tillman was honored with the inaugural Dolores Hickambottom Public Service Award.
The caucus’s activities include candidate endorsements, campaign training, and community advocacy, particularly in the wake of the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. “The overturn of Roe by the Supreme Court is devastating. But we’re in this fight for the long haul, and we need YOU,” the organization stated on its website.
NWPC-GPA’s Political Action Committee (FPPC ID: 1422805) supports endorsed candidates through financial contributions and public backing. In recent election cycles, the caucus endorsed several successful candidates for local offices, including Pasadena Unified School District Board members and city council representatives.
The organization also maintains partnerships with advocacy groups, including Planned Parenthood Advocates Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley. In its most recent virtual chapter meeting on Nov. 6, the guest speaker was Sheri Bonner, president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood affiliate.
The Dec. 1 event continues NWPC-GPA’s tradition of community engagement and political empowerment. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate women’s leadership, empowerment, and political action as the organization prepares for another year of advocacy and leadership development.
