Pasadena City College’s Anesthesia Technologist Program is accepting applications between Jan. 3 and Feb. 15.
PCC’s anesthesia technician program is recognized by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) and is the first of its kind in the state. Students will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement and an associate degree upon successful completion.
The program, which is in its third year, takes three semesters to complete. Students must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and have completed the required prerequisite courses of English, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology.
“PCC is responding to an identified need by employers in the health care field for anesthesia technicians to be certified and have associate degrees,” said Dr. Barbara Freund, dean of the PCC Health Sciences Division. The program is the result of a partnership with managed care organization Kaiser Permanente.
Applications may be submitted at the Health Sciences Division at the Community Education Center (3036 E. Foothill Blvd.). You may also access the application and information brochure online at www.pasadena.edu/divisions/health-sciences.
