Embattled Pasadena City College Superintendent/President Dr. Erika Endrijonas is a finalist for the Los Angeles City College president position.
Endrijonas joined three other finalists in a livestreamed public forum introducing themselves to the LACC community Thursday night.
Earlier, LACC issued a statement about the search for a new president.
“The District Human Resources Division worked closely with the consultant from executive search firm Community College Search Services (CCSS), in conducting this national search, which resulted in a diverse and highly qualified pool of applicants. The search committee has recommended the following finalists to the chancellor for further consideration: Dr. Santanu Bandyopadhyay, Dr. Erika Endrijonas, Dr. Amanuel Gebru, and Dr. James Lancaster.”
Endrijonas’ tenure as PCC has been marked recently by controversy.
She previously served as President of Los Angeles Valley College in the Los Angeles Community College District for 4 ½ years.
Prior to that, she served as executive vice president of Oxnard College in the Ventura County Community College District for five years, where she was the chief instructional officer, the chief student services officer, and the accreditation liaison officer.
Her community college experience also includes nine years as the career and technical dean at Santa Barbara City College. Dr. Endrijonas holds a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Northridge, and Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in American and women’s history from the University of Southern California.
